Yes you are covered for accidents and emergencies abroad.
Your plan provides cover from €55,000/ up to €100,000 for hospital (in-patient) accident and emergency cover while on a temporary stay abroad (temporary stay is up to 31 consecutive days outside of Ireland). Our plans are designed for members who reside in Ireland for at least 180 days of the policy year.
If you require information or hospitalisation when you are abroad please contact our 24 hour international assistance helpline on 00 353 148 17840. This number is also printed on the back of your membership card. Please ensure you contact this number before treatment is provided wherever this is reasonably possible. If you do not call the international assistance number, you may not be able to claim for treatment under this benefit.
Additionally, you should log into your Online Account to check your Table of Cover to verify the amount of A&E cover on your policy.
Health Insurance is not a substitute for travel insurance and we also recommend that you purchase travel insurance before you depart.
We also recommend that you obtain a European Health Insurance Card before you travel. You can obtain information on how to apply for this card on www.ehic.ie
